Leadership Styles

Today we talked about leadership styles and linked them up with characters that have similar traits.  For example, some of you identified with the shark, others the turtle, owl or teddy bear.  Remember: groups need all four leadership styles.  They work best together!

What leadership role will you try next?

Team Building: Lava Pit

Congratulations Grade 7/8! You did a great job working as a team today. You listened to each other, took turns speaking, worked together, encouraged each other, made sure everyone was included and made it safely back to the classroom. You did this all in record time (14 mins and 33.6 seconds!) and the lava monster didn’t catch you! After, you put a lot of great thought into your group work guidelines. Well done! Keep up the great teamwork!

How many Jelly Beans?

Great communication today! From partners, to small groups and finally the whole class, you communicated very well. I like how you passed the object to identify the speaker and to ensure that only one person spoke at a time. That was a great strategy. Also, I liked how you made the circle to make sure everyone felt like their opinion mattered. Fantastic teamwork and communication!

Community

Today we each brought in our own rock that represents how we are all unique and we each bring talents to our classroom.

We are all connected together. Today we shared our connections and showed them through a web.

Together we are an even stronger, more talented community of learners!
